Ballistic Missile Production in Russia: Current Trends and Future Plans

According to UATV: Ukraine has reported that Russia can launch up to 100 ballistic missiles each month without significantly depleting its stockpiles. By 2026, Moscow's defense industry aims to supply 700 units of the 9M723 missile, used in the Iskander operational-tactical system. Current monthly output of the 9M723 stands at 55–60 units.

Additionally, plans for 2026 include manufacturing over 480 RM-48U missiles for the S-300PM and S-400 air defense systems. In 2025, Russia already produced more than 200 RM-48U missiles, with current monthly production reaching up to 50 units. The roadmap also calls for delivering up to 60 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles in 2026.

Ukraine's Defense Efforts on the International Stage

President Volodymyr Zelensky stated: 'Ukraine is in talks with the current U.S. administration about obtaining a license for the Patriot system.'

The surge in Russia's ballistic missile production signals a potential escalation in security threats to Ukraine, underscoring the urgent need to bolster defensive capabilities. Meanwhile, Ukraine's active negotiations to acquire the Patriot system highlight its push to strengthen air defenses, a move that could reshape the conflict's trajectory and galvanize further international support.
