Russia's allegations against the United States

According to UATV: Russia has accused the United States of failing to uphold commitments made during the August 2025 summit in Alaska between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. This accusation comes amid a surge in Ukrainian attacks on Russian soil, including a strike on the Moscow oil refinery last week.

Three senior Russian officials have publicly stated that the U.S. did not keep its promises. Yuri Ushakov, for instance, remarked that

“only one side remained committed to the agreements reached, while the other side, as it now turns out, was unable to fully fulfill its part”

Statements from Russian and Ukrainian leaders

Sergey Lavrov suggested that the summit may have been a 'U.S. trick to buy time for rearming the Kyiv regime.' This comment reflects the Russian leadership’s belief that Washington uses diplomatic meetings to pursue its own strategic objectives, potentially worsening the regional conflict.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, meanwhile, declared at the G7 summit that Kyiv is turning the tide of the war, signaling an intensification of military operations from Ukraine’s side. Vladimir Putin also emphasized that

“the entire West is working for Kyiv”

Against the backdrop of escalating tensions between Russia and the United States, the remarks from Russian officials highlight the complexity of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
