Civilian Casualties in Zaporizhzhia Following Drone Attack
According to Novyny.live: A Russian drone strike on a residential building in the village of Veselyi Hai, Zaporizhzhia Region, on February 2 resulted in civilian casualties. The ongoing invasion has seen a pattern of attacks targeting civilian infrastructure far from the front lines.
A 38-year-old woman was killed in the attack. A 59-year-old woman was wounded and is currently receiving medical treatment.
Broader Assault
This incident was part of a wider offensive, as Russian forces also launched drone attacks against the Cherkasy region during the night of February 1-2. Ivan Fedorov confirmed the details of the Zaporizhzhia strike via Telegram.
Such strikes on residential areas underscore the severe risks faced by civilians and highlight the ongoing escalation of violence in Ukraine. These attacks emphasize the critical need for continued international support to protect non-combatants in conflict zones.
