Clearing the Aftermath of the Attacks in Kyiv
According to UATV: Efforts to clear the wreckage are ongoing in Kyiv following Russian strikes on residential buildings that killed more than 20 people. Nearly 100 individuals have sought medical treatment as a result of these attacks. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is stressing the urgent need to strengthen the country's air defense systems to prevent future tragedies of this scale.

July 2, 2023, marked the 1,590th day of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. During the overnight assaults, Ukrainian forces intercepted 48 missiles and 476 drones of various types. The strikes were not limited to Kyiv but also targeted:

- Kharkiv region
- Zaporizhzhia
- Chernihiv region
- Sumy region
- Dnipropetrovsk region

Zelensky emphasized the importance of providing aid to those affected. He also noted that "a significant portion of Russian attack drones and cruise missiles were shot down," highlighting the active efforts of Ukraine's air defense forces. In addition, the president called on Europe to develop its own sufficient capabilities to defend against all types of threats, stating that "our goal is to make Russia realize that peace is necessary."
Cleanup operations are continuing, and Ukrainian authorities are doing everything possible to support the victims and ensure the safety of citizens.
This tragedy underscores the severity of the threat facing Ukraine and the importance of international support in strengthening its air defense system.
