According to Novyny.live: On February 21, 2023, Russian military forces struck a civilian vehicle in the Sumy region of northeastern Ukraine, resulting in two fatalities and one woman being wounded. The attack occurred in the Shostka district, inflicting severe consequences on the local population. The Sumy region, which borders Russia, has been a frequent target of shelling and incursions since the full-scale invasion began.

A 61-year-old man was killed in the assault. Another female passenger in the car sustained fatal injuries. A 56-year-old woman was wounded, hospitalized, and is receiving necessary medical care.
