Russians damaged a critical reservoir at the occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reported that a diesel reservoir at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, temporarily occupied by Russia, was damaged. This was stated by the spokesman of the Ministry, Georgiy Tikhiy.
According to him, fuel was spilled that provided power to the emergency generators at the station for 25 days.
The Russians not only stole the plant but are also incapable of ensuring its basic safety.
The spokesman of the Ministry said that this happened due to the unprofessional replacement of licensed Ukrainian experts with unqualified Russian operatives.
Tikhiy emphasized that there is a need to bring the station back under the control of Ukraine to avoid further incidents.
The administration of US President Donald Trump plans to revise the terms of the agreement with Ukraine regarding access to mineral resources, including the Zaporizhzhia NPP.
The agreement does not provide for the transfer of rights to use subsoil or any property. This was reported by Ukraine's Minister of Justice Olga Stefanishina. According to the agreement, the distribution of revenues to the state budget has no legal consequences.
President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he has not discussed the possibility of transferring the Zaporizhzhia NPP into US ownership.
