Tragedy in Kyiv
Rescue operations have concluded in the capital of Ukraine following one of the most brutal strikes by Russia. Rescue workers are still clearing the debris of the building where the entrance collapsed as a result of the attack. According to preliminary information, 23 people died on the night of Thursday, August 28, including four children. This was reported by the correspondent of the FREEДOM channel, Andriy Dytryenko.
As a result of the shelling
The entrance of a multi-storey building in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv has been completely destroyed by the attack of Russian troops. A total of 22 people, including children, died in this building.
Emergency recovery operations are ongoing so that the surviving residents can retrieve their belongings as quickly as possible.
'There are no people under the rubble anymore. Currently, emergency recovery operations are underway, meaning we continue to dismantle dangerous structures that may pose a threat to the health and lives of people. Together with law enforcement agencies, we help people safely reach their apartments,' said the spokesperson of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, Svitlana Vodolaha.
Massive strike on Ukraine
As a reminder, on the night of August 28, Russia launched a massive combined strike on Ukraine. Kyiv was under rocket and drone attack.
This tragedy is yet another testament to the scale of military actions continuing on the territory of Ukraine.
