Russian forces advanced within Vovchansk (northeast of the city of Kharkiv), and also repelled positions of the AFU in the Kursk region. This is reported in the analysts' report of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

Ukrainian operations in the Russian Federation

Russian forces reclaimed territory in the main Ukrainian salient in the Kursk region. Russian military bloggers claimed that Russian troops reclaimed Tovstyi Lug (southeast of Korenevo), and one blogger claimed that parts of the Russian 11th Airborne Brigade (VDV) reclaimed Cherkasskaya Konopelka (southeast of Sudzha). However, ISW found no confirmation of any of these claims by Russia.

Russian sources claimed that Russian troops conducted offensive operations near Kreminna (east of Korenevo), Lyubymivka (southeast of Korenevo), Zelenyy Shlyakh (directly east of Lyubymivka), Novoivanivka, Fanasiyivka (southeast of Sudzha), and Plekhove.

It is reported that on October 14, Russian troops reclaimed territory in the Glushkovsky district (west of the main Ukrainian salient in the Kursk region). Russian bloggers claimed that Russian troops captured Novyy Put (southwest of Glushkovo) and forced out Ukrainian troops from most of the southern salient of Ukraine.

Situation in Kharkiv region

It is reported that Russian forces advanced within Vovchansk (northeast of the city of Kharkiv) amid ongoing offensive operations in the north of the Kharkiv region on October 14. Russian milbloggers claimed that Russian forces advanced along Korolenko Street in the north of Vovchansk, although ISW has not yet observed visual evidence of this claim.

Ukrainian sources reported that Russian forces conducted ground attacks near Starytsia (southwest of Vovchansk) on October 13 and 14. Units of the Russian 16th Special Forces Brigade (Main Directorate of the General Staff of Russia) allegedly continue to operate in the north of the Kharkiv region, and units of the 18th Motorized Rifle Division (11th Army Corps, Leningrad Military District) continue to operate near Lyptsi (north of the city of Kharkiv).

Luhansk region

It is reported that Russian forces made minor advances northwest of Kreminna during continued offensive operations along the Kupiansk-Svatove-Kreminna line on October 14. A Russian milblogger claimed that units of the Russian 144th Motorized Rifle Division (20th Combined Arms Army, Moscow Military District) advanced east of Novosadove (northwest of Kreminna), but ISW has not observed visual confirmation of these claims.

The head of Severodonetsk city administration, Roman Vlasenko, stated that Russian forces are concentrating their strikes northwest of Kreminna in the directions of Zhuravka Balka and Makiivka, and south of Kreminna towards Bilohorivka and the Serebrianske Forest.

Donetsk region

On October 14, Russian forces conducted an offensive in the Chasiv Yar area, but there were no confirmed changes to the frontline. On October 14, a Russian milblogger claimed that Russian forces advanced along the T0504 Bakhmut-Kostyantynivka highway east of Chasiv Yar and in fields southwest of Hryhorivka (northeast of Chasiv Yar), but ISW found no confirmation of these claims.

Ukrainian forces recently regained lost positions in the center of Toretsk amid continued Russian offensive operations in this area on October 14.

"Southern Axis"

Russian forces conducted ground offensives on October 13 and 14 in the western Zaporizhzhia region near Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka (northeast of Robotyne), and Novodanilivka (north of Robotyne), but achieved no confirmed advances.

The Ukrainian General Staff reported on October 13 and 14 that Russian forces carried out assaults on the Dnieper direction, likely referring to the left-bank (eastern) Kherson region and the islands in the Dnieper River delta.

By the way, the Russian army is likely planning to renew the offensive in the area of Vovchansk, Kharkiv region. This is stated in the report on the situation in the operational-tactical group "Kharkiv".
