Shifting Battlefield Strategies on the Dobropillia Front

According to Espreso.tv: Andriy Otchenash, an officer with the National Guard of Ukraine’s ‘Rubizh’ Brigade, has reported on the evolving tactics and equipment being deployed by Russian forces in the Dobropillia sector. Over the past six months, the frequency of Russian troop movements has tripled, signaling a significant escalation in enemy operations.

Among the new tools now in use are electric motorcycles, employed to transport assault teams to the front lines. Additionally, occupiers are increasingly relying on heavy drones to strike Ukrainian positions.

“In the defense zone of just one brigade, tens of thousands of FPV drones are arriving each month,” Otchenash noted.
He also highlighted that summer foliage, or ‘zelenka,’ is helping enemy forces covertly amass troops and prepare for assaults.

Aerial Bombardments and Drone Warfare

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on July 13 alone, the enemy launched 70 airstrikes, dropping 246 guided bombs, deployed 8,676 kamikaze drones, and carried out 3,296 shelling attacks—32 of which came from multiple rocket launchers. Otchenash added that Russian forces are now using the ‘Molniya’ drone, which carries an additional FPV drone to boost its strike capability.

These new tactics and technologies reflect an evolution in the Russian military’s approach to combat, demanding close attention and countermeasures from Ukrainian forces.

The modernization of Russian combat tactics on the Dobropillia axis underscores the adversary’s efforts to adapt to the realities of modern warfare by integrating cutting-edge technology and equipment. The surge in drone strikes and novel machinery could complicate Ukrainian defensive operations, necessitating the development of fresh response strategies.
