The Russian army is trying to encircle the AFU grouping in the Donetsk region.
The Russian army is pressing on the positions of Ukrainian defenders in the area of the town of Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region and is trying to encircle the AFU grouping. This was stated by military expert Dmytro Sniehyrov on the air of "Espreso".
Russian troops have already crossed the Siverskyi Donets canal. In addition, according to the expert, the occupiers have some advances towards the M-32 highway, which is key for the logistical support of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
The goal of the occupiers is to flank the positions of the Defense Forces concentrated in Chasiv Yar. Next, they plan to reach Kostiantynivka.
The advance of Russian troops is also recorded in other hot directions - Kurakhiv, Lyman, and Kupiansk. However, the situation is difficult on the Lyman direction. The invaders have advancements in the areas of Terny and Torske.
This respectively creates threats of the occupiers reaching Siversk not only with the possibility of operational encirclement of the Ukrainian grouping but also moving towards Sloviansk, particularly in the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration. A similar situation is on the Kupiansk direction, where there are tactical advances of the occupiers. The Russians do not intend to force the Oskil river.
Earlier, a former mayor who fights, explained why the Russian Federation is advancing.
Furthermore, Zelensky talked with Syrsky and identified the most important directions on the front.
Also, the occupiers managed to take full control of the settlements of Shakhtarske and Kurakhivka in the Donetsk region.
Recall, it became known the day before that the Russian invaders occupied the village of Yasna Polyana in the Volnovakha district of the Donetsk region, which is a few kilometers from Shakhtarsk. The enemies also advanced in Novodmytrivka, Druzhba, Maksymivka, near Novoukrainka and Terny.
It should be noted that The New York Times publication considers that the shortage of military personnel is Ukraine's main problem. The soldiers are likely to last another 6-12 months of war.
