Animals Deployed for Military Logistics

According to TSN.ua: Due to severe logistical breakdowns, Russian forces are now systematically using donkeys, camels, and horses to transport food and ammunition to their units. This reliance on pack animals underscores the military command's profound difficulties in supplying its troops with essential resources.

Reports indicate that in December and January, Russian troops attempted to conduct assault operations on horseback. Donkeys were used for similar tasks in the summer of 2023, and by that autumn, camels began appearing with Russian units, confirming the ongoing trend of employing animals for logistical support.

Systemic Supply Chain Collapse

Ruslan Mykula, co-founder of the DeepState project, observes that the Russian military, which positions itself as the world's second army, cannot ensure proper logistics even in the fifth year of its large-scale invasion.

"They planned to fight all of NATO, to battle the US and Britain for years in pursuit of their interests, yet they cannot maintain a supply chain,"
he stated.

In addition to animals, the Russian command employs light vehicles, buggies, motorcycles, and scooters for assault operations. Mykula notes that the adversary uses every available method, and where scooters were used before, exotic animals are now being deployed.

"I think they don't care about the animals, which is why they use anything. They don't care about people, let alone animals,"
he added.

This use of animals highlights critical logistical failures that impair the military's ability to perform effectively. The situation points to significant challenges in sustaining Russian units, which could degrade their operational performance. As the war continues, these supply problems may become decisive, potentially lowering morale among troops who lack proper support. The resort to animal transport also risks public backlash, as it emphasizes the command's disregard for both human and animal welfare.
