Russian Army – Three Kilometers from Dnipropetrovsk: The Armed Forces of Ukraine Report on the Situation.
Russian troops continue active operations in the Novopavlivka direction
According to "Glavkom", it is reported that the RF army is less than three kilometers from Dnipropetrovsk. Ukrainian forces encountered small assault groups using aviation and FPV drones on fiber optics. The spokesman for the operational-strategic grouping of troops "Khortytsia", Viktor Trehubov, reported active movements of Russian soldiers in this section of the front. He noted that they successfully utilize motorcycles and cars for advancement and placing drones.
"This is a trendy tactic now: a combination of assaults on motor vehicles with the active use of FPV drones, particularly, on fiber optics. They will be racing on motor vehicles, they will also die in bulk, but the point is that more drones are simply needed for motor vehicles," - said the military.
Conducting airstrikes, the Russian army uses KABs, which, according to Trehubov, do not always hit military positions accurately. He also noted that the RF has problems with targeting ammunition due to the effectiveness of Ukrainian EW.
Situation Analysis in Dnipropetrovsk
It is noted that Russian military personnel did not manage to fulfill Putin's order to enter Dnipropetrovsk by May 9. However, their goal is not limited to landing in the area of the city of Dnipro but is defined by a planned offensive on the city of Pokrovsk, which lies on one of the main supply routes.
"No road - no fuel, equipment, ammunition, food, water - nothing. And the city can be encircled. Well, I think that’s the purpose currently set for the Russian Federation," - suggested the analyst.
Ivan Stupak also emphasized the possible military justification for such an offensive. The reaction to the political decisions of Ukraine and the United States may determine future events in Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk.
