Drone Strike in Kryvyi Rih Kills Elderly Woman, Injures Three.
Drone Attack Targets Kryvyi Rih
According to Novyny.live: On January 29, Russian forces launched a drone attack on the Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih. The assault resulted in the death of an elderly woman and left three others wounded—two women and a man. The attack also ignited fires at the scene, which have since been extinguished.
Oleksandr Vilkul, head of the Kryvyi Rih City Council, reported that the strikes hit private homes in two separate locations. This attack is part of a wider pattern of strikes on Ukrainian cities far from the front lines. Emergency crews are currently clearing debris, and the local authorities have pledged to provide construction materials to homeowners for repairs.
Aftermath and Aid for Victims
Vilkul added that district commissions will conduct a survey tomorrow morning to document the damage and arrange financial assistance for those affected. Rescue operations are ongoing to ensure resident safety and mitigate the attack's consequences.
This strike is part of the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, which continues to inflict severe hardship on civilians in targeted regions. Amid the hostilities, local authorities are striving to facilitate rapid recovery in affected areas by providing material aid and resources for rebuilding homes. The involvement of local commissions to assess damage and support victims underscores the critical need for social and economic assistance in wartime conditions.
