Russian Generals Eliminated Since the Beginning of the Great War: A Dossier on War Criminals.
Since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, at least 14 Russian generals have been eliminated. Only nine of them have been confirmed by the Russian authorities. 'Glavkom' will tell about the Russian top military officials who died during the Great War.
Russian Generals Eliminated in 2024
Igor Kirilov
On December 17, 2024, the SBU eliminated Lieutenant-General of the radiation, chemical, and biological protection troops of the Russian Armed Forces Igor Kirilov.
54-year-old Kirilov had held the position of head of the radiation, chemical, and biological protection troops of the Russian Armed Forces since 2017. He participated in the development of the TOC-2 'Tosochka' system and was under sanctions for his involvement in the Russian war against Ukraine.
Pavlo Klymenko
On November 7, 2024, the Defense Forces eliminated Major General of the Russian Federation Pavlo Klymenko, who commanded the fifth separate motorized rifle brigade.
Klymenko served in the occupied Crimea and was in Ukraine during the war. He was accused of torture and murder of civilians and had legal issues even before the war.

Kanamat Botashev
Near Popasna, Luhansk region, in May 2023, retired Major General of the Russian Air Force Kanamat Botashev was eliminated.
Botashev was a military pilot and author of numerous war crimes. He actively participated in the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation and was under sanctions due to his military past.
Dmitry Ulyanov
In February 2023, Russian General Dmitry Ulyanov was eliminated.
Ulyanov participated in the invasion of Ukraine and other armed conflicts. He was responsible for crimes against humanity and was under investigation by the International Criminal Court.
Sergey Goryachev
In June 2023, Major General Sergey Goryachev of the Russian Armed Forces was eliminated.
Goryachev was known for his crimes against humanity in Donbas and other military theaters. He was an especially brutal commander and had a significant record of offenses.

Andrei Suhovetsky
On February 28, 2022, near Mariupol, Deputy Commander of the 41st Combined Arms Army of the Central Military District of Russia, Major General Andrei Suhovetsky, was eliminated.
He was known for his cruelty and crimes against humanity. He actively participated in the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation and was one of the main organizers of the war.
Oleg Mityayev
In mid-March 2022, the 'Azov' battalion eliminated the commander of the 150th Motorized Rifle Division of the Russian Federation, Major General Oleg Mityayev.
Mityayev was known for his crimes against humanity and particularly cruel treatment of hostages. He was one of the key figures in the war against Ukraine and had numerous convictions prior to the invasion.
Vitaly Gerasimov
In March 2022, Vitaly Gerasimov, a Russian military leader, Major General, Chief of Staff, and First Deputy Commander of the 41st Army of the Central Military District of Russia, was eliminated.
Gerasimov was one of the organizers of the war against Ukraine and had numerous crimes against humanity attributed to him. He was under investigation by international courts and had a significant number of international convictions.
Yakov Rezantsev
On March 25, 2022, Lieutenant General Yakov Rezantsev, commander of the 49th Combined Arms Army of Russia, was killed in Chornobayivka in the Kherson region as a result of a strike on the command post.
Rezantsev was known for his crimes against humanity and actively participated in hostile actions against Ukraine. He was one of the most ruthless and wanted war criminals.
Andrei Kolesnikov
In March 2022, Major General Andrei Kolesnikov, commander of the 29th Combined Arms Army of Russia, was killed.
Kolesnikov was a notorious war criminal who committed horrific crimes against humanity. He was abused by the authorities and participated in many war crimes.
Andrei Simonov
In April 2022, Major General Andrei Simonov of the Russian Armed Forces was killed near Izyum in the Kharkiv region as a result of a strike on the command post of the occupiers.
Simonov was known for his crimes against humanity and principled cruelty in the war against Ukraine. He was one of the main organizers and responsible for large-scale wartime crimes.
Roman Kutuzov
In June 2022, Major General Roman Kutuzov was killed in the village of Mykolaivka in the Luhansk region.
Kutuzov was known for his crimes against humanity and terrifying cruelty in the war against Ukraine. He was one of the most fearful and irreconcilable enemies of the Ukrainian people.
