Three Children Injured in Russian Drone Strike on Kharkiv Region.
Strike on Lymanivka
According to UATV: On April 2, Russian occupation forces launched an attack on the settlement of Lymanivka, located in the Lozova district of the Kharkiv region. Three children were wounded as a result. According to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, at 2:30 PM local time, an unmanned aerial vehicle—preliminarily identified as a 'Geran-3' drone—hit the area.
The injured include:
- two girls, aged 12 and 13;
- a 14-year-old boy.
All three children were diagnosed with acoustic barotrauma. The attack also damaged a stadium field and shattered windows in a nearby apartment building.
Ongoing Risks to Civilians
This incident highlights the persistent dangers faced by civilians in regions under attack. It has stirred anxiety among local residents and underscores the urgent need to protect non-combatants in conflict zones. The Kharkiv region has been a frequent target of such strikes since the start of the full-scale war.
The attack on Lymanivka is yet another example of the escalating violence in Ukraine, which has now continued for over a year.
Civilians, especially children, remain highly vulnerable during military operations, with their lives and health at constant risk. It is critical that the international community continues to monitor the situation in the region and demands adherence to international humanitarian law to safeguard the civilian population.
