Russian Strike on Kharkiv Kills 11, Including Children and a Teacher.
Russian Forces Strike Kharkiv on March 7
According to Novyny.live: A Russian missile attack on the city of Kharkiv on March 7 resulted in the deaths of 11 people, including children and a teacher. Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that during search and rescue operations at the site of the nighttime strike, body fragments of another victim were discovered. This northeastern Ukrainian city, near the Russian border, has endured relentless shelling since the full-scale invasion began.
Rescuers recovered the bodies of two children from the rubble: a 13-year-old girl and a 9-year-old boy. Among the other victims were an elementary school teacher who died alongside her son, and an eighth-grade student who perished with her mother. The assault also damaged 17 residential buildings, a school, and critical infrastructure. One apartment building that suffered a direct hit has been deemed beyond repair.
Humanitarian Toll of the War
This bombardment is part of the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, now in its second year. Attacks on civilian targets, including homes and educational institutions, have drawn condemnation from the international community and human rights organizations. Such tragedies underscore the severe humanitarian consequences of the conflict and the urgent need to protect civilians in war zones, as civilian casualties continue to mount.
