Occupiers executed five Ukrainian prisoners of war
An investigation has been initiated into the execution of five Ukrainian Armed Forces prisoners by the occupiers in the Pokrovsk direction.
According to preliminary data, in November 2024, Russian occupiers carried out an assault on the positions of Ukraine's Defense Forces near the village of Petrivka in the Pokrovsk district. As a result of the assault, five Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers were forced to retreat and hide in a private house. After surrounding the residence, Russian military took the Ukrainian defenders captive. They were forced to leave their hiding place unarmed and lie on the ground. Then the occupiers executed the Ukrainian prisoners with automatic weapons.
Currently, investigative actions are ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime and the individuals involved in its commission.
Archimandrite of the Moscow Church convicted for supporting the occupation of Kherson region
The former rector of the Holy Assumption Cathedral in Kherson, Oleksiy (Fedorov), was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of all property.
According to the investigation, the archimandrite of the UOC-MP during the occupation of the Kherson region praised the invaders in his sermons, and regularly invited the so-called head of the occupation authorities in the Kherson region, Volodymyr Saldo, to the church for propaganda appearances before the parishioners.
The clergyman also blessed the holding of a pseudo-referendum on the "joining" of the Kherson region to Russia.
Moreover, the cleric personally addressed the Moscow Patriarch Kirill with a request to include the local cathedral in the parish of the Russian Orthodox Church. He also offered to transfer property taken from Ukrainian citizens for the maintenance of the cathedral.
The dollar rate reached a historical maximum
The National Bank of Ukraine has raised the dollar exchange rate to the hryvnia, setting a historical maximum on November 27, 2024, at the level of 41.5035 UAH per $1, which is an increase of 0.0648 UAH compared to the previous day. This is stated on the NBU's website.
It is worth noting that the dollar has been rising for the fourth consecutive day. Today, it renewed its record, exceeding the previous maximum of 41.4912 UAH/dollar, which was recorded on July 22, 2024.
Russian forces struck Sumy
Russian troops carried out an airstrike on a residential area in the city of Sumy. As a result of the attack, two people died. Following the Russian attack, residential buildings, a kindergarten, private cars, etc., were damaged.
Emergency services have already localized the fire outbreaks. A rescue operation is still ongoing in Sumy at the site of the shelling.
The Ministry of Defense is investigating poor-quality mines in the military
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has been investigating the causes of the malfunctioning 120mm mines for three weeks. Currently, the department has suspended the use of the specified batches of ammunition in the Defense Forces and their issuance to combat units until the causes of the malfunction have been established. The batch of unreliable ammunition has been seized for further research. Instead, mines of imported production will be supplied.
Preliminary results of the interagency commission's investigation into the supply of low-quality 120mm mortar mines indicate possible causes of defects, including poor quality propellant charges or violations of ammunition storage conditions that led to damage.
