Andriy Yusov, a spokesperson for Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate, stressed the need to maintain control over these areas and counter Moscow’s efforts to stir instability. This focus comes as Ukraine continues to face threats from Russian military contingents operating near its borders.

Remnants of Russia’s military contingent remain in Transnistria, a fact that continues to alarm Kyiv. To bolster its ranks, Moscow has launched a recruitment drive aimed at bringing mercenaries into its occupation forces. According to Yusov,

“Russia is running a recruitment campaign to attract mercenaries to its occupation army. The recent statements by the Russian dictator about simplifying citizenship procedures are also part of this effort. However, Ukraine is prepared, and our security and defense forces are working through various scenarios. Intelligence is tracking all movements and any signs of preparation.”

Countering Russian Occupiers

Ukraine’s Armed Forces are systematically undermining enemy resupply operations, using every available tool to cripple Russian logistics capabilities.

“Our security and defense forces are deploying the full range of assets to degrade the occupiers’ logistical capacity. They are constantly searching for and implementing new, more effective methods and means of targeting,”

Yusov also noted that Russia is trying to study Ukraine’s tactics, copy them, and apply them in the field.
