Ryanair cancels hundreds of flights in Germany: which airports will be affected.
Ryanair cancels hundreds of flights in Europe
According to The Sun: The airline Ryanair is canceling hundreds of flights in three European countries, continuing a series of cuts. In the winter season, several routes in Germany will be canceled, affecting passengers until January.

In Berlin, 76 flights will be canceled in January, leaving only 170 of the currently operating 246. Additionally, 44 routes will be canceled in Cologne.
This means a reduction of 30% in January, while in November and December, it will be about 4% and 6%, respectively. Fortunately, no cancellations are expected during the last two weeks of December when many people travel for Christmas markets.
Ryanair explains its actions by 'high airport and security fees' and warns that further cuts may occur.
Ryanair's CEO Eddie Wilson said in August: "The German air passenger market is broken and urgently needs repair."
"Germany has only recovered 82% of its pre-COVID traffic, which is the worst performance among all EU countries."
"Due to these high taxes/fees (the highest in Europe), Germans and visitors now pay the highest airfares in Europe."id='6378261769112' data-video-id='6378261769112' data-account='5067014667001' data-player='default' data-usage='cms:WordPress:6.5.7:2.8.6:javascript' data-embed='default' class='video-js' data-application-id='' controls style='width: 100%; height: 100%; position: absolute; top: 0; bottom: 0; right: 0; left: 0;'>
Additionally, Ryanair is also canceling hundreds of flights from other countries. Last month, the budget airline confirmed the cancellation of two million seats in Spain, including all flights to Tenerife, Vigo, and Santiago.
Ryanair bases in Valladolid and Jerez will remain closed. The company's CEO, Michael O'Leary, noted: "If costs in regional Spain are too high, I will fly to other places."
"It is more profitable for us to fly at the same cost to places like Palma (on the island of Mallorca) than to Jerez."AlamyMemmingen in Germany suffered the most losses
French airports are also suffering from Ryanair cancellations. Bergerac Airport lost Ryanair flights, affecting 18,000 passengers. The Brive-London Stansted route was also canceled. These cancellations mean fewer routes to each city, which will likely lead to higher ticket prices due to demand.
In some cases, such as Vigo, this means no direct routes from the UK. Also in the news, Ryanair has increased the size of its free carry-on baggage earlier this year.
It is worth paying attention to the current changes in Ryanair's boarding pass cancellation rules, which may affect many passengers planning to travel in the coming months.
AlamyAirports in Spain and France have already faced Ryanair flight cancellations.
Ryanair's flight cancellations indicate the problems airlines are facing amidst rising costs and changing demand for air travel in Europe. This could lead to increased ticket prices and reduced accessibility of air travel for passengers, particularly in Germany and other countries. It will take months before we see how these changes will impact the airline market in Europe.
