Panic spread through the aircraft as heavy turbulence unexpectedly struck during the flight between Vitoria on the Spanish mainland and Palma in Mallorca. Several flight attendants who were preparing for landing were injured as the plane suddenly tilted during descent.

Two of them suffered serious injuries: one was thrown against the ceiling of the cabin, while the other was struck by a serving cart they were pulling down the aisle at that moment.

Most of the flight attendants were conducting cabin safety checks when the sudden jolt occurred due to the passage of a storm front in the region.

Emergency services responded promptly when the aircraft landed at Son Sant Joan Airport and provided aid to those injured after the horrifying moments of their journey.

The flight had been proceeding calmly and on time up until that point. There were about 180 passengers on board, many of whom were extremely frightened by the experience.

The turbulence reportedly struck without warning as the plane was preparing to land. Storms and heavy rain had enveloped Spain around that time, causing travel delays.

The extent of injuries sustained by the crew is currently unknown.

Ryanair has not responded to a request from The Sun for comments.
