From the airport in Eastern England, Britons will be able to travel from Norwich to Valletta in Malta thanks to a new route that will operate year-round.

Direct flights from the British city will depart every Monday and Thursday.

“Ryanair is pleased to launch our winter schedule from Norwich for 2025, including a new winter route to Malta,” said Ryanair's Communications Director Jade Kirwan.

She emphasized that since Ryanair began operations in Norwich last summer, the company has improved connectivity, providing customers in Eastern England with more options at the lowest prices in Europe.

Malta is a great choice during gloomy cold nights, as it boasts the highest number of sunny days in Europe.

Warm climate and ticket prices

Valletta, the capital of Malta, has nearly 3000 hours of sunshine each year. Even in autumn and winter, the weather usually remains warm, and tourists are fewer. In October, temperatures can reach 25°C, while in December they are around 13°C.

One-way tickets in November cost only £28.

Although Malta is located in the Mediterranean Sea, it is not considered a classic beach destination. It features numerous rocky bays with stunning views and breathtaking sunsets.

For sunbathing, beaches like Golden Bay and Għajn Tuffieħa are also available.

Malta is not the only year-round Ryanair destination from Norwich; there is also a route to Alicante – the sunniest city in Spain with 349 hours of sunshine each month.

Alicante is located on the Costa Blanca and offers spacious beaches, restaurants, bars, and vibrant nightlife.

Another regional Ryanair route to Faro will end in late October and will resume in May 2026.
