In Sainsbury’s supermarkets this week, shoppers are being offered the chance to earn 10 times more Nectar bonus points for their purchases. Although the offer is indeed very advantageous, there is one catch - it is only valid this week, so discount lovers need to act quickly to take advantage of it. The Nectar bonus program is quite popular in the UK and is used by many Sainsbury’s customers. For every pound spent in the store, 1 Nectar bonus point is awarded, which can be redeemed for 0.5 pence upon purchase. This means that for 1,000 points, you can get 5 pounds. Points can be collected using either the additional or physical card and then used for discounts on products, fuel, entertainment, or at partner stores like Argos or eBay. The new promotion allows everyone buying Taste the Difference products to earn additional bonuses. By activating them, shoppers receive 10 times more points for everything they purchase, not just for the premium product alone. This means that a regular grocery trip can yield a significant number of points. Usually, a £30 purchase can earn you 30 points, worth just 15 pence. But thanks to the 10x boost this week, the same trip will yield 300 points, which means £1.50 in account value. The Nectar bonus program is one of the largest in the UK and free to join. Members earn points every time they shop with partners such as Sainsbury’s, Argos, Esso, eBay, and Just Eat. Points can be redeemed for discount vouchers, used to purchase groceries, or spent at partner stores. Each point is worth 0.5 pence, so 1,000 Nectar points equal 5 pounds. During this week's special offer at Sainsbury’s, shoppers receive ten times more points for their purchases, turning 500 points into 5,000 instantly. For those who do not have a Nectar account yet, you can join for free online at nectar.com or by downloading the Nectar app on your smartphone. After registration, shoppers receive a digital card that can be scanned at checkout, or they can request a physical card. The Nectar app also offers personalized deals, from bonus points on specific products to discounts in Sainsbury’s stores, Argos, and other partner stores. Taste the Difference products unlock points 10 times on all items in the basket, meaning that a £50 trip can now earn 500 points worth £2.50. With Sainsbury’s promotions on Nectar, shoppers quickly accumulate points, allowing them to significantly reduce their weekly grocery expenses. This week, Sainsbury’s allows customers to boost their Nectar account balance, but the offer is for a limited time. Shoppers need to activate the offer before visiting the store and buy at least one Taste the Difference product. Iceland has announced a significant change to its rewards program, renaming the Bonus Card to Bonus Club. The new fully digital loyalty program offers greater discounts and new rewards for families. Members can top up their Bonus Club account in-store or online and receive a £1 bonus for every £20 saved. By simply saving £2 a week, participants can have over £100 by the end of the year. Bonus Club members also enjoy free home delivery on orders over £40 just by scanning their card at checkout. New members joining during Bonus Club week (from August 26 to September 1) receive £5 in free credit, while existing members get £2. To celebrate this change, Iceland launched the Mega Deals Event with significant discounts on over 500 products in stores and online.
