Saudi Arabia Pushes Oil Pipeline to Record Capacity of 7 Million Barrels Per Day for the First Time.
Saudi Arabia Reaches Full Capacity on Key Oil Pipeline
According to UATV: For the first time in its history, Saudi Arabia has ramped up its strategic East-West crude pipeline to maximum output, transporting 7 million barrels daily—an all-time high. Built in 1981 and stretching 1,200 kilometers, this infrastructure now significantly boosts the kingdom's oil export capabilities. This development comes amid heightened global focus on energy security and supply diversification.
As of March 28, the pipeline is moving 7 million barrels of oil per day, with 2 million barrels allocated to Saudi refineries. Crude exports via the Yanbu port have reached 5 million barrels daily. Additionally, the kingdom is exporting between 700,000 and 900,000 barrels of refined petroleum products each day.

Strategic Importance of the Expanded Capacity
Before recent conflicts, the Strait of Hormuz handled roughly 15 million barrels of oil per day, underscoring the strategic weight of Saudi Arabia's new capacity for global oil markets. This move could significantly reshape energy trade dynamics, especially amid current consumption and export trends.
By pushing the pipeline to its limit, Saudi Arabia signals its intent to solidify its dominance in the global energy market. Given ongoing challenges related to supply security and price volatility, expanding exports could provide the kingdom with greater financial leverage. This development may also pressure other oil producers, as Saudi Arabia continues to play a pivotal role in setting prices and filling supply gaps worldwide.
