Fake 'Reserve+' App for Draft Dodgers Shut Down by Ukrainian Cyber Police and SBU.
Special Operation Neutralizes Hacker Group
According to Espreso.tv: Ukraine's Security Service (SBU), together with the Cyber Police Department, carried out a special operation that dismantled a hacker group responsible for creating a counterfeit version of the 'Reserve+' mobile app aimed at individuals evading conscription. The operation unfolded across three cities: Kyiv, Rivne, and Cherkasy.
The fraudulent 'Reserve+' app was offered at a monthly fee of 1,200 hryvnias, and during its operation, over 4,000 users logged into the fake service. As part of the operation, law enforcement seized the following items:
- computer equipment;
- mobile phones;
- USB flash drives;
- bank cards;
- SIM cards.
Two individuals detained in the case have been notified of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 114-1 and Part 3 of Article 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. If convicted, they face up to eight years in prison. This special operation marks a significant step in combating cybercrime and safeguarding citizens' rights.
