SBU Exposes Russian Spy in State Border Guard Service: He Directed Strikes on Odesa.
Arrests of Russian Agents in Ukraine
According to Novyny.live: Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) has uncovered a Russian agent operating within the State Border Guard Service, who was coordinating attacks on Odesa. The suspect was apprehended while photographing a target designated for a strike. According to investigators, this maritime guard sailor was recruited through Telegram channels and was revealing the combat positions of Ukrainian forces.
In addition, the SBU detained an FSB agent in Odesa last month. That woman was also involved in adjusting strikes, but in her case, the focus was on the city's energy infrastructure. She transmitted data to her FSB handler, demonstrating her active participation in hostile activities against Ukraine.
Legal Consequences for the Detainees
Both individuals are currently in custody without the possibility of bail. A court has already ruled that the serviceman from the Odesa region will remain behind bars, and an indictment against the Russian agent has been submitted to the court. Under Ukrainian law, both detainees face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
These arrests highlight the SBU's ongoing efforts to identify traitors attempting to harm Ukraine amid the armed conflict. Uncovering Russian agents in strategic institutions like the State Border Guard Service underscores the critical role of counterintelligence measures in safeguarding national security.
The SBU's actions reflect a systematic approach to combating hostile elements seeking to destabilize the country and damage its infrastructure. This also points to an escalation in Russian attempts to influence military and energy facilities in Ukraine.
