Ukrainian Security Service Thwarts Russian Missile Strike Targeting Commander of 3rd Army Corps Biletskyi: Inside the Operation.
Kyiv Foils Russian Plot to Strike Commander Andriy Biletskyi
According to Novyny.live: The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has disrupted a Russian attempt to launch a missile and bomb attack against Andriy Biletskyi, the commander of the 3rd Army Corps, by intercepting a recruited drone operator. The operation was carried out with the assistance of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces.
As a result, the SBU detained an individual who was trying to pass the coordinates of the brigade’s headquarters and training center to Russian forces. The suspect has been formally charged under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code, which covers treason committed under martial law.
The detainee is currently in custody and faces life imprisonment with asset forfeiture. This incident highlights the critical role of Ukrainian intelligence agencies in countering external threats and efforts to destabilize the country during wartime.
Russian Intelligence Activity on the Rise
This case underscores the ongoing activity of Russian intelligence services as they attempt to destabilize Ukraine, particularly by targeting military leaders. The arrest of the recruited drone operator demonstrates the effectiveness of Ukrainian security forces in detecting and preventing threats to national security. Such actions can significantly impact troop morale and the overall situation on the front lines, especially in a conflict where precision strikes against command structures are a key tactic.
