Google DeepMind creates AI to fight cancer: what this will change.
According to inkorr.com: Artificial intelligence can play an important role in the fight against cancer, accelerating the development of new treatment methods. Google DeepMind has unveiled a new model, C2S-Scale 27B, which analyzes biological processes in cells and predicts tumor responses to different drugs. Researchers have discovered a mechanism that makes tumors visible to the immune system, opening new possibilities for therapy.
The CK2 kinase inhibitor silmitasertib (CX-4945) enhanced immune system activity only in combination with interferon, increasing tumor visibility to the body's protective cells.
Scientists have also validated the AI predictions through laboratory studies of human neuroendocrine cells. They believe that large AI models can significantly more quickly find new links between drugs, cells, and the immune system in the context of cancer treatment.
This discovery could pave a new path for the development of cancer treatment methods, said Google CEO Sundar Pichai.
Research results
- The AI model C2S-Scale 27B contributes to speeding up scientific research and creating effective cancer treatment methods.
- Researchers have identified the SLAMF6 protein, which helps cancer cells evade attacks from the immune system in acute myeloid leukemia, using the CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing method for further studies.
The implementation of artificial intelligence in cancer research provides new opportunities for creating more effective treatment methods. This can significantly improve prognosis for patients and accelerate scientific progress in cardiology.
