Meeting of Zelensky and Trump: what sensitive issues are being discussed.
According to ТСН: Ukraine expressed interest in a meeting between President Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump. There are 'sensitive issues' that can only be discussed by the leaders of the countries.
This was reported during a briefing by Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha.
Expectations from Ukraine
According to him, Ukraine hopes for concrete results regarding the peace process to ensure 'progress'.
“Achieving a ceasefire is extremely important for Ukraine. Undoubtedly, all efforts of the negotiation team, all diplomatic efforts are aimed at ensuring this peace process,” the Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized.
Communication with the American side
The Ukrainian team is in constant contact with representatives from the USA. The minister noted that President Trump's efforts are also aimed at ending the war that was started by Russia. Sybiha expressed hope for a new round of negotiations.
“In the near future, it is probably worth expecting upcoming or further contacts to discuss specific steps on how to bring a just peace closer for Ukraine,” added the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Meeting of the leaders
It is worth recalling that US President Donald Trump stated he is ready to meet with Volodymyr Zelensky, but only after the peace agreement becomes final.
The White House also noted that a meeting between the US and Ukrainian presidents is not currently planned. There are no agreed dates or official agreements regarding possible negotiations between Trump and Zelensky.
Thus, Ukraine's efforts are focused on achieving significant results in the peace process. Communication with the American side continues, and the Ukrainian team hopes for new initiatives that may bring the long-awaited cessation of war closer. The high-level meeting leaves open the question of the next steps in diplomatic efforts.
