Andrii Sybiha's Rebuttal to Viktor Orbán

According to TSN.ua: Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has issued a sharp response to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's claim that the Hungarian parliament will not support Ukraine's accession to the European Union for the next 100 years. Orbán stated that no parliament in Hungary would vote for Ukraine's EU membership during that entire period.

Sybiha dismissed these intentions as futile.

"That plan is doomed to fail, Mr. Prime Minister. Your master in Moscow will not last 100 years, even if you were prepared to hand him all your organs,"
the Ukrainian minister remarked. His statement underscores that Ukraine's path toward EU membership remains viable, irrespective of the Hungarian government's stance. This diplomatic exchange highlights the significant political obstacles Ukraine faces within the EU bloc itself.

Strained Ukraine-Hungary Relations

The Hungarian Prime Minister's comments reflect the deeply strained relations between Ukraine and Hungary, particularly regarding European integration. Despite Budapest's opposition, Ukraine continues to work actively toward meeting the criteria for EU accession, demonstrating the country's commitment to European values and standards.

In turn, the Ukrainian minister's reaction signals Kyiv's determination to pursue its Euro-Atlantic ambitions, undeterred by external hurdles. The dispute centers partly on Orbán's close relationship with Russia and his government's longstanding disagreements with Kyiv over the rights of the Hungarian minority in Ukraine.
