Russian Military Launches Drone Strike on Ukraine

According to UATV: On June 20, the Russian army attacked Ukraine using 99 attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas types, and Parody decoy drones. As of 8:00 AM that day, Ukraine's air defense forces had either destroyed or neutralized 92 of the incoming drones.

Seven strike drones hit three separate locations, while debris fell at three other sites. This large-scale assault followed earlier bombardments:

  • On June 19, Russian troops launched over 30 drone and artillery attacks on the Nikopol and Kryvyi Rih districts in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
  • Those strikes killed two people in the Nikopol area and wounded eight others.

Conflict Escalates Further

This attack underscores the war's intensification and the ongoing threats facing Ukraine amid sustained military operations. The rising frequency of Russian assaults suggests a potential ramp-up in combat activities, which could deepen the humanitarian toll on civilians.

Ukraine's air defense continues to play a critical role in protecting the country, but challenges persist due to evolving warfare technologies.
