Ukrainian Forces Halt Russian Offensive Near Pokrovsk, Repelling 291 Attacks: Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi.
Russian Assault Stopped in Key Sector
According to Novyny.live: Ukraine's Commander-in-Chief, Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi, has announced that Russian forces have been stopped in the Pokrovsk direction, where Ukrainian troops repelled 291 attacks. This sector remains the most intense along the entire 1,200-kilometer active front line. In the area of the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad urban agglomeration, Ukraine's Defense Forces achieved a significant success by halting the enemy's advance.
During a working trip to the Pokrovsk sector, Syrskyi assessed the battlefield situation and presented awards to soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine's First Corps for their professional performance. Specifically, Major Robert Brovda received the 'Cross of Merit' badge.
“In the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration area, Ukraine's Defense Forces recently stopped the Russian military's offensive.” — Oleksandr Syrskyi
According to Syrskyi, since the start of the counteroffensive, Ukrainian troops have regained control over approximately 470 square kilometers in the south. This high level of success was achieved through:
- sustained concentration of efforts,
- unconventional solutions,
- effective inter-unit coordination.
“Our current tasks remain unchanged—preventing active enemy operations, inflicting significant losses on them, and preserving the lives of our soldiers,” he stated.
In a related development, missile forces and artillery of the Ukrainian Ground Forces struck the Russian 'Promsintez' plant in the Samara region. This action underscores the proactive stance of Ukrainian forces in countering aggression across all fronts.
The halting of the Russian offensive near Pokrovsk demonstrates the resilience and effectiveness of Ukrainian forces in repelling attacks. The importance of this achievement is highlighted not only by the number of repelled assaults but also by the recovery of control over substantial territory. Continued Ukrainian operations, including strikes on strategic enemy assets, point to the growing efficiency of their counteroffensive efforts.
