The Ukrainian Armed Forces have detected attempts by the Russians to create a 'buffer zone' on the border of Sumy and Kharkiv regions. Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi reported that the situation has stabilized in Sumy, where clashes are taking place.
'The Russians are currently stopped along the line of Kindrativka - Andriivka - Yablunivka - Yunakivka,' he said. 'Our troops hold a foothold in 90 sq. km in the Hlukhiv district, where it partially crosses the state border.'The threat in the Northern Slobozhanshchyna direction is increasing, as Russia has relocated about 10,000 fighters to the Hlukhiv area. Around 50,000 enemy troops are colliding in this direction, including elite units. In the Sumy direction, defense is led by Brigadier General Oleg Apostol, recognized for his effectiveness.
Syrskyi emphasized that the Armed Forces managed to stop the movement of enemy forces in Kursk, which were preparing to advance on Pokrovsk. Additionally, the Russian troops planning an attack on Pokrovsk were redirected to another direction.Defense measures in the Sumy region are ongoing.
