How many Ukrainians of mobilization age live in Poland: the Foreign Minister announced the figure.

According to Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha, about 300,000 Ukrainian citizens who are of mobilization age reside in Poland. He stated this during a discussion at the Yalta European Strategy (YES) meeting in Kyiv. The Minister emphasized that Ukraine and Poland are actively engaging in dialogue to prepare a military unit of Ukrainian volunteers that will be based on Polish territory. He stressed that this project is very important for strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities. Sybiha also noted that, according to his estimates, about 300,000 Ukrainian citizens reside in Poland, and there are about a million Ukrainians abroad in total. The Foreign Minister emphasized that all citizens have a duty to defend their homeland, regardless of their location.

Earlier, the head of Poland's Foreign Ministry issued a concerning warning for Ukrainian men abroad. Sikorski and Sybiha also reported that Ukrainian military personnel may train on Polish territory and that negotiations are currently underway to create a Ukrainian legion. It is also noted that from October 2024, Ukrainian families with children who were forced to move to Poland after the invasion began will be entitled to additional financial support. The new aid program aims to ease adaptation and ensure a stable life for Ukrainian refugees in Poland. In 2025, Poland will introduce new conditions for assigning the '800 Plus' assistance to Ukrainian refugees with children living in the country.
