Denys Shmyhal noted:

“I proposed to New Zealand to participate in funding programs for the rehabilitation of released Ukrainian soldiers and civilians. We also highly appreciate the involvement of New Zealand instructors in the training program for Ukrainian military personnel, Interflex.”

During the meeting, the main areas of bilateral cooperation in the defense sector were discussed. The Minister of Defense of Ukraine also suggested exploring partnership opportunities in the production of maritime drones. Shmyhal thanked New Zealand for its support in combating Russia's shadow fleet and called for continuing and strengthening sanctions against the aggressor, particularly in the issue of confiscating frozen Russian assets.

Thus, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine initiated cooperation with New Zealand in the areas of military personnel rehabilitation, training of Ukrainian military personnel, and production of maritime drones, expressing gratitude for assistance in countering Russia's shadow fleet and calling for continued sanctions against the aggressor.
