Parties on yachts banned in Palma: what else will change for tourists.
Behavior of tourists to be restricted in Palma
According to The Sun: At first, it may seem that Spain is the perfect place for parties, but the local authorities in one city have decided to take measures to limit popular tourist entertainment.
On October 14, the mayor of Palma announced a new "package of measures" to combat inappropriate behavior of tourists and improve the quality of life in the city.

In particular, there will be a complete ban on party yachts in the coastal zone of Palma, where they dock, starting from the next season.
Martínez added that the local council is working with the Balearic Ports Authority (APB) to determine how to implement this restriction.
It is known that party yachts have caused dissatisfaction among locals, and the mayor noted that these measures are part of the city council's commitment to improve the tourist situation.
New rules to reduce tourist pressure
Another innovation is a moratorium on new holiday rental homes, which is meant to stop the overcrowding of the town with tourists.
This also includes a three-month suspension of issuing new rental permits. Previously, rentals were not allowed in apartment buildings, but now this restriction will extend to single-family homes and room rentals.
Previously, visitors could book such accommodations on popular platforms like Airbnb.
The mayor of Palma reported: “There are only 639 legal tourist rental licenses in the municipality.”
“These licenses are valid and will remain so, but in case of their cancellation, no new permits will be issued.”

Additionally, the mayor announced a ban on the opening of new hostels.
Existing hostels will be offered to convert into hotels or permanent housing.
Martínez hopes that these measures will increase the number of housing options for local residents and create opportunities for long-term rentals.
This news comes against the backdrop of new rules being introduced in Spain in the summer of 2025, aimed at preventing inappropriate behavior in popular cities.
In particular, restrictions on alcohol consumption have been introduced in certain areas of Mallorca, including Palma, Lluchmajor, and Magaluf.
The ban on alcohol sales is in effect from 21:30 to 08:00, according to government information.
In many public places, such as parks, streets, and beaches, alcohol consumption is also prohibited, with potential fines of up to €3,000 (£2,612).
Keep these new rules in mind when planning your next trip to Spain.
