Heat hits prices - dairy products are rising rapidly in Odessa.
This summer, there has been less homemade dairy at the Odessa markets due to the heat and drought, which has resulted in cows producing less milk, and therefore, less product is available than usual. Sellers assure that the quality of the products has not been affected.
Mrs. Tetiana from the village of Ralyanka sells cheese, butter, sour cream, and bryndza. In her explanation, she notes that this summer, due to the small amount of grass caused by the heat and drought, cows are giving less milk, which leads to a correspondingly smaller amount of products.
Prices for bryndza and other dairy products
There is also a huge selection of bryndza for sale: aged sheep's, unripened sheep's, cow's, and mixed. Alongside this, eggs are sold for 65 hryvnias per dozen and milk for 40 hryvnias per liter. Seller Tetiana emphasizes that while the prices may not be the lowest, all products at the market are natural, and she also provides advice on how to use the products.
Due to the heat and drought, the volume of homemade dairy products at the Odessa markets has noticeably decreased. Sellers explain that the smaller harvest has affected the amount of milk that cows produce, but they emphasize that the quality of the products remains high.
