Peace Negotiation Plan for Ukraine: Expert Reveals Risks of Documents.
According to ТСН: The document that is supposed to establish peace first and then ensure security guarantees may turn out to be more of a trap than an opportunity for Ukraine. This is currently reported by an article in Politico.
Such an opinion was expressed by the expert of the analytical center 'Unified Ukraine' Ihor Popov on the air of 'KYIV24'.
'The official position of President Zelensky and all Ukrainian delegations is that there should be a package of agreements. We cannot sign something and then discuss security guarantees,' he noted.
It has currently become known that Driscoll brought two documents: the first is a roadmap with 28 points, and the second is diplomatic security guarantees from the USA. The Ukrainian side emphasizes the need for the ratification of this bilateral agreement by national parliaments, which will ensure its stability regardless of political changes in the USA.
'But this needs to be done simultaneously with the signing of the roadmap for peaceful settlement. We understand that these guarantees are not absolute. But let them sign and ratify at least them,' Popov concluded.
Earlier, the expert also expressed a troubling forecast regarding the end of the war in Ukraine.
Candidate of Historical Sciences Dmytro Dovhopoliy, a former UN employee, expresses doubts about the possibility of reaching a peace agreement.
'It seems to me that what is happening is an overture for a ceasefire, a Korean ceasefire. We will negotiate, supposedly agree, and eventually agree to stop the fire at some conditional line, and it will stay there for quite a while. Until someone dies, we hope and know who,' Dovhopoliy stated.
Thus, the opinions of experts indicate the seriousness of the situation surrounding potential peace agreements. Issues of security guarantees and stability of agreements remain extremely important, as they depend on Ukraine's future in the context of international relations and security. Observing the development of events, it is important to maintain dialogue and seek a path to a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
