Zelensky on the Future of Ukraine: Independence or Concessions to the Aggressor.
According to ТСН: The future of Ukraine lies solely in independence, and any concessions to the aggressor only fuel its appetites.
This was stated by Volodymyr Zelensky during a joint conversation with journalists from several Polish publications.
From Ultimatum to Dialogue
Zelensky commented on the situation in Ukraine in response to a question about the possibility of fierce battles or diplomatic negotiations involving the United States. He noted that initially, the peace plan resembled more of an ultimatum, but over time, the US began to engage in dialogue more constructively, taking Ukrainian arguments into account, which led to changes in the plan.
“At first, the peace plan looked more like an ultimatum. Then the US began to talk to us more normally, understanding our arguments, and the plan started to change,” Zelensky emphasized.
The president noted that Ukraine sees its future only as an independent country. He warned that if Putin is not stopped now, it will lead to an endless continuation of the war.
About the First Day of Peace
In response to a question about his first steps after the end of the war, Zelensky stated that the restoration of the country will begin immediately.
“In the very first seconds after the end of the war, all Ukrainians will start rebuilding Ukraine,” he assured.
Returning Home
The issue of Ukrainian refugees was discussed separately. The president expressed hope that with the advent of peace, many people would return home.
“I am convinced that many will return to Ukraine,” Zelensky emphasized.
He also noted that no one will force people to return, but the state must create conditions for Ukrainians to want to return to their homeland.
Moreover, Zelensky commented on Putin's recent interview, stating that “there are many Putins,” hinting at the possibility of using doubles of the Kremlin leader.
These comments by Zelensky underscore the importance of independence and the reconstruction of Ukraine. The president continues to emphasize that the country has all the strength to rebuild after the war, and constantly calls on the international community for support in this matter. His words about the return of refugees also reflect hopes for peace and stability, which could bring a new stage in the development of Ukraine.
