Ukraine–NATO Council Meeting

According to UATV: On June 3, 2023, marking the 1,561st day of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the aftermath of Russian strikes on Dnipro was being addressed. Speaking at a Ukraine–NATO Council session held in Kyiv, he also discussed ongoing international support for Ukraine. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte attended the meeting as well. This gathering underscored the alliance’s continued engagement with Ukraine amid the protracted conflict.

During the session, Zelensky stated that 'all necessary forces are now deployed in Dnipro following the Russian strikes,' reflecting active Ukrainian efforts to mitigate the damage from the attacks. He also introduced a new initiative called the PURL program, set to receive funding starting June 2023. The president emphasized that 'partners have decided on new contributions to the PURL program,' highlighting sustained financial backing from the international community.

Upcoming NATO Summit in Ankara

The agenda also included the forthcoming NATO summit in Ankara. Zelensky noted:

'We discussed the Alliance’s summit in Ankara with the NATO Secretary General.'
He expressed gratitude to nations supporting Ukraine, stating:
'I am thankful to every country that stands with us in this effort.'
