According to ТСН: The real problem for the Ukrainian Armed Forces is the generals and colonels who do not understand what modern warfare is. This opinion was expressed by Lieutenant Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Deputy Commander of the Third Army Corps, Maxim Zhorin on Telegram.

Competence and Authority

“In general, a person who does not understand what is happening cannot effectively command at any level. At both platoon level and at the highest levels, commanders should be appointed based on two main criteria: authority and competence,” emphasized the military officer.

Negative Consequences of Inadequate Leadership

According to Zhorin, if the situation remains as it is, inadequate tasks, unreasonable distribution of forces and resources emerge, which, in turn, leads to losses reported on the Deepstate map.

Experienced Officers

He also noted that there are many senior officers who are learning, developing, and effectively fulfilling their duties. However, there are also those who harm the military. “Cleaning the army of them is one of the most important tasks if we want to build a modern and effective structure,” Zhorin concluded.

Enemy's Advancement Speed

Maxim Zhorin previously noted that he has not seen such speed of enemy advancement at the front for a long time.

This statement by Lieutenant Colonel Zhorin raises an important question about the management structure in the Ukrainian military during the war. The effectiveness of command and understanding of modern combat actions are critical to ensuring success. It is evident that necessary changes in the command staff can significantly impact the course of events at the front and contribute to more effective execution of combat tasks.
