Famous director James Cameron plans to obtain New Zealand citizenship and move to this country. He made this decision after Donald Trump's victory in the U.S. elections. This was reported by Glavkom, citing the director's interview with the New Zealand publication Stuff.

In response to a journalist's question about Trump's second presidency, Cameron said: 'I think it's terrible. I see a turning away from all decency. America stands for nothing if it doesn't uphold what it has historically upheld,' he noted.

The director of 'Titanic' lived in New Zealand for 14 years. In 2012, he bought a dairy farm there and then got into film production. In fall 2023, in an interview with Variety, he stated that all of his 'Avatar' films would be shot in New Zealand.

Currently, James Cameron referred to the process of obtaining New Zealand citizenship as 'inevitable'. According to him, one of the best things about life in New Zealand is stepping away from news about Donald Trump.

'I just don't want to see this guy's face on the front page of the newspaper anymore. It's like watching a car crash over and over again,' Cameron said.

James Cameron is a renowned director who won an Oscar for the films 'Titanic', 'Avatar', and 'Terminator'. He was born in Canada but spent most of his life in the USA, where he built his career. He is one of the most successful directors in the world: his films have grossed over $5.6 billion at the global box office.

As a reminder, five former U.S. defense ministers criticized President Donald Trump for his decision to fire several American military leaders.

Additionally, on February 27, U.S. President Donald Trump made a number of statements regarding the war in Ukraine. Glavkom collected the main ones.

Trump stated that he cannot believe he called Volodymyr Zelensky a 'dictator'. 'Did I say that? I can't believe I could say such a thing,' he said. He also called Zelensky the best president of Ukraine and stated that he would work with him.
