Starlink blocks access to social network X in Brazil following court ruling

The company Starlink, providing satellite internet services and owned by Elon Musk, began blocking access to the social network X (formerly known as Twitter) in Brazil. This happened after the company changed its decision and decided to comply with the country's Supreme Court ruling, despite its previous statement of refusal to comply with this order. This was reported by Reuters.

«Despite the illegal treatment of Starlink, related to the freezing of our assets, we are complying with the order to block access to X in Brazil», – says the statement of Starlink, which has over 200,000 clients in this Latin American country.

The court decision is related to financial sanctions against the company X, which is also owned by Musk. Judge Alexandre de Moraes ordered the freezing of Starlink's assets, which could have been used to pay fines.

Following this, Starlink reported that it would comply with the court's decision and has already begun disconnecting access to the social network X in the country.

Initially, on Monday, Starlink stated that it would not comply with the court order, but by Tuesday, the company informed the Brazilian telecommunications regulator Anatel about its decision change and began implementing the block within a few hours.

Recall, it became known who was detained in Paris along with Pavel Durov.

By the way, the American billionaire and founder of the social network X Elon Musk sarcastically reacted to Durov's arrest.

Meanwhile, Russians raised the alarm over the arrest of the Telegram founder.
