Trump and Starmer discuss a plan for Ukraine and peacekeepers

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that during his visit to Washington, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will meet with U.S. President Donald Trump and present him with a plan to send 30,000 European peacekeepers to Ukraine. This information is reported by The Telegraph.

The essence of the plan is that European military personnel will monitor compliance with the ceasefire agreement. Additionally, Keir Starmer will urge Trump to keep American fighter jets and missiles in Eastern Europe to ensure the ability to respond with force if Russia breaches the agreement.

“It was developed against the backdrop of concerns that the U.S. president will quickly forget about Ukraine and any ceasefire after making any deal.”

The plan involves deploying 30,000 troops from Europe to critical infrastructure sites in Ukraine, including cities, ports, and nuclear power plants located near the front line. The mission of these troops will be under the command of European countries and will include technical monitoring using aircraft with reconnaissance and surveillance systems, drones, and satellites. Naval patrol vessels will also be sent to ensure the safety of shipping routes in the Black Sea.

This 'force of reassurance' strategy is initiated by the United Kingdom and France and was presented to other European leaders at a meeting in Paris. Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed their support for Ukraine and President Zelensky.
