Register for military service online? The Ministry of Defense offers innovations to Ukrainians.
The Ministry of Defense has developed a new bill that allows Ukrainians of conscription age to register for military service online using electronic identification. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Defense.
According to the agency's information, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the draft law "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Military Duty and Military Service" regarding the specifics of the procedure for accepting Ukrainian citizens for military registration of conscripts and their medical examination during basic general training".
The Ministry of Defense explained that it plans to allow the acceptance of conscripts for military registration and the storage of personal data through identification in the "Conscripts, Military Obligated Persons and Reservists Electronic Cabinet" service.
The agency also plans to cancel the medical examination and registration through commissions. In addition, students will undergo a medical examination before practical sessions of basic general military training.
The draft law also provides for clarifications on the military registration of women who wish to undergo basic military service. Women will be registered for military service before being directed to service, and after completing basic military service, they will be registered as military obligated persons.
The government allocated funds for printing summonses
It should be noted that the Ministry of Economy decided to allocate 71 million 820 thousand hryvnias for the centralized printing of summonses. According to the plan, 300 thousand summonses will be printed monthly. The funds for this will be allocated from the state budget reserve fund.
In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers approved changes to the procedure for conscription of citizens for military service during mobilization. Now the summonses can be on a form with a state seal or formed using the Unified State Register of Conscripts and contain a QR code with a unique electronic identifier.
Changes were also made to the requirements for summonses issued to conscripts, military obligated persons, and reservists, as well as to the mechanism for their verification and sending.
