State Budget-2026 Signed: What the Billions of Hryvnias Will Be Spent On.
According to ТСН: The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, signed a law concerning the state budget for the year 2026.
The document has already been sent for the signature of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Details of Budget Adoption
At the meeting of the Verkhovna Rada on December 3, the deputies adopted the state budget for the year 2026, supporting it with 257 votes. Among them, 193 deputies represented the 'monobillion'.
Presentation of the Final Version
Sergii Marchenko, the Minister of Finance, personally visited the Verkhovna Rada to present the final version of the document before it was approved in the second reading.
In his speech, the minister emphasized that the current version of the document is
'harmonious and balanced'and takes into account
'political and necessary qualitative changes from the parliamentary corps'.
Main Directions of the Budget
According to the minister, the budget for the year 2026 focuses on supporting security and defense, education, medicine, social protection, as well as stimulating business and the economy. As in previous years, it still has a large deficit due to the war.
The adoption of the budget is an important stage for the country, as it determines the development priorities for the next year. It is expected that the document will become the basis for the implementation of socio-economic programs that will help Ukraine overcome challenges and contribute to recovery after the war. The President's further actions regarding the approval of the budget may also affect the political situation in the country.
