The Prosecutor's Office has compelled the KMDA to clear the landfill near Lake Almazne: case details.
The Desnyansky District Prosecutor's Office filed a lawsuit against the Kyiv City State Administration regarding the cleaning of an illegal landfill site in Troieshchyna. The garbage is scattered over an area of more than 4.7 hectares and poses a threat to the environment, particularly near Lake Almazne. This is already the second lawsuit from prosecutors regarding illegal landfills in the capital.
What is known about the garbage on Pukhivska
Over the years, construction and household waste has accumulated on the site along Pukhivska. The prosecutor's office believes that the city authorities failed to fulfill legislative requirements for waste management. In this regard, the court will consider the prosecutor's lawsuit regarding the cleaning of the garbage and the restoration of the area.
'...the illegal landfill site is located next to Lake Almazne, which may cause pollution of the water body with harmful substances,' reports the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.
This is already the second court case against the illegal landfill in the area. Law enforcement agencies emphasize that they will continue to monitor the enforcement of decisions until the city eliminates ecological threats.
It is also important to note that the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration has expressed concerns about the chaotic parking of local officials in the city. Furthermore, the former head of the Department of Social and Veteran Policy of the KMDA has been taken into custody, but the court allowed him to be released on bail of 30 million hryvnias.
Addressing the proper removal of illegal landfills in Kyiv is becoming more justified, and prosecutors continue the fight against environmental issues in the capital.Read also
