Stubbs predicts Trump's further role in peace talks regarding Ukraine.
The President of Finland, Alexander Stubbs, stated that American leader Donald Trump will continue to participate in negotiations concerning the resolution of the Russian war against Ukraine. The Finnish president shared this opinion in an interview with the Japanese media NHK.
Previously, Trump warned about the possible withdrawal from negotiations for a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia if he does not see progress. However, Stubbs, who regularly communicates with the American president by phone, reported that 'he has not seen any signs' of Trump withdrawing from negotiations.
The Finnish leader emphasized that Trump is striving for a peace agreement and is trying to convince the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to work towards achieving it. Stubbs also called for the strengthening of sanctions against Russia, mentioning the necessity to 'make the alternative cost of continuing the war for Russia too high.'
In light of these statements, it can be noted that Donald Trump remains committed to negotiations regarding the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine and aims to achieve a peace agreement with Russia, while at the same time supporting the strengthening of sanctions against the aggressor country.
