Artificial Intelligence: Google Cloud Expands Infrastructure in Jakarta.

Expansion of Google Cloud's Computing Capabilities in Indonesia
Google Cloud has announced the increase of its data center capacities in Jakarta to meet the growing demand for cloud services and artificial intelligence in Indonesia. The expansion was announced during the Google Cloud Summit Jakarta. The Jakarta cloud region includes several data centers that provide infrastructure for the digital services of companies and institutions in the country.
Launched in 2020, the Jakarta region already plays a crucial role in supporting Indonesia's economic growth. According to Google Cloud's projections, their actions will bring the country 1,400 trillion rupiahs and help create nearly 240,000 new jobs annually. Local organizations are already successfully using cloud solutions across various sectors, enabling them to save up to 20% on IT costs.
Two key programs were presented at the Google Cloud Summit:
- An accelerator program for AI-focused startups, developed in partnership with Indonesia's Ministry of Communications and Informatics. The program aims to support 100 Indonesian AI startups over five years.
- The Indonesia BerdAIa program for large organizations, which helps to develop and implement artificial intelligence responsibly. National banks, telecom providers, medical companies, and universities have already joined the program.
Indonesian companies are already actively using Google Cloud's AI tools to enhance their operations. For instance, the telecom operator Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison has implemented a generative AI assistant in its mobile app, while the coffee shop chain Fore Coffee uses BigQuery for inventory management and customer data analysis.
Brawijaya University is also successfully utilizing AI tools to improve the educational process. These initiatives reflect Indonesia's ambitious plans to become a regional leader in artificial intelligence.
In response to the growing demand for cloud services and artificial intelligence tools in Indonesia, Google Cloud is expanding its capabilities and launching new programs to support startups and large organizations in the country. This indicates the ongoing development of the industry and strengthening collaboration between Indonesian companies and the tech giant Google.
