The President of the Republic of Korea, Yoon Suk Yeol, was arrested by court decision. His powers were suspended due to the impeachment process. The court is also conducting an investigation into the declaration of martial law.
'The court approved the arrest of President Yoon, who was impeached in connection with the declaration of martial law,' the Yonhap agency reported.
Before his arrest, Yoon was summoned for questioning three times regarding the martial law case. However, the president did not show up for any of them.
