The Swedish government has banned the construction of 13 wind power plants in the Baltic Sea due to the threat to national security from Russia. According to Sweden's Defense Minister Paul Jonson, the placement of wind generators in these areas could negatively impact the country's military defense capabilities. This is particularly relevant to radar equipment and the detection of low-altitude threats, such as cruise missiles and drones, and tracking ballistic missile launches. The ban on wind turbine construction applies only to the eastern and southern coasts of Sweden. There are no restrictions in the western part of the country. Journalists believe this indicates Sweden's choice of security over green energy.

It is worth noting that Sweden, a leader in implementing a cashless society, has identified risks that compelled the cancellation of wind power plant construction due to security concerns and threats from Russia. The Ministry of Defense even distributed a brochure with advice, recommending that people have an adequate cash reserve in case of a crisis or war.
